Muscle contracture

In these cases, the contracture occurs essentially when a muscle is required to work more than you can handle, and is brisk and prompt, eg one-or sustained exertion and less intense-for example, keep a few hours, poor posture . Moreover, some anomalies of the spine or muscle imbalances that favor some groups of muscles are constantly working more than necessary, which predisposes them to contractures.

The same happens when a power failure and the muscles required to make efforts to exceed their capacity. For example, some studies have shown that the paraspinal muscles is symmetric, the left and right side tends to be similar regardless of whether the individual is left or right handed. In patients who have undergone back, or have had back pain from chronic, paravertebral muscles may atrophy up to 80% compared to the healthy side, providing an asymmetric distribution of charges, muscular overload or disc and the emergence of new episodes of pain.

In such situations it is essential to the proper exercise for each specific case in order to counteract this trend and prevent the recurrence of crises.

The muscular contraction causes back pain by several mechanisms:

The contraction of a muscle directly activates pain nerves that are in it, triggering back pain.

In addition, the tight muscle can compress the artery, decreasing blood flow. In this situation creates a vicious circle because the muscle contractions less watering tends to more easily and also the lack of blood triggers more pain nerves.

If this continues a long time or occurs frequently, the muscle contracture with increasing ease. In this situation, make appropriate physical exercise is key to breaking that trend.
